As America approaches her 250th Birthday, my heart is full.
Growing up as the child of a World War II veteran, I developed a deep sense of patriotism, a profound love for our country, and a strong sense of responsibility to support our Veterans, active-duty military members, and the families who serve alongside them.
As I reflect on this historic milestone, I am reminded that America would not be celebrating 250 years of freedom without the courage, sacrifice, and service of these brave men and women.
Serving Veterans With Honor, Compassion, Faith, Hope, and Kindness
This week, as our team wrapped up another Veterans retreat, we were blessed by a visitor who shared an observation that touched me deeply:
“You are serving our esteemed Veterans with honor, compassion, faith, hope, and kindness.”
His words about our team brought tears to my eyes. (And, as always, the tissues were nowhere in sight!)
Moments like these remind us why serving Veterans and military families is such meaningful work. Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every opportunity to help a veteran heal and thrive makes a difference.
A Timeless Tribute to the American Flag
I am also reminded of an “oldie but goodie” from the legendary comedian Red Skelton. His heartfelt explanation of the meaning of the American Flag and our Constitutional Republic captures the spirit of patriotism far better than I ever could. I encourage you to watch his timeless tribute and reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who have served.
Remembering Those Who Protect Our Nation
As you celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th Birthday, I hope you enjoy time with family and friends, reflect on the blessings of freedom, and remember the men and women who continue to protect our nation.
Please keep our troops, Veterans, and military families in your prayers.
May God bless America on her birthday and every day.
